Character Profiles Archive Interactive About the Author The Store Thank You
There's a lot of people I'd like to thank for helping me put this whole thing together.
Long ago, I saw a Tokyo Pop Rising Stars of Manga add in the back of the Peach Girl manga I was reading. I thought to myself, "Man, that'd be great if I could write a really good story and could get a really good artist to draw it for me". And then, with that thought in mind, I put it away. I thought no more about it for a few days, and one night I tried my hand at drawing Pegasus from YuGiOh, but it looked more like Nephlight from Sailor Moon, so I just said that it was him instead. I went on and on with this first drawing, and finally got the character Lecosi. Cassandra was next, then Marith, then Lizzy, though Cassandra and Lizzy were by far from where they are right now.
A cat and a dragon in a three page short started it all.
After a while, I showed the doodles to my friend Shardy-san, because the characters were based on her and I (I wasn't planing on a serious comic. I was just playing around with Mary Sue's). She liked it, so I kept drawing and thinking on the plot. Still working away from Sue-ish modles, I asked Shardy-san if she'd like to be the artist. She drew up Lizzy and thought up the charcter Flossy (Now named Yukio). However, I think I bitched too much about what she wanted the characters to do and what I wanted them to do and I scared her away from the project (100% positive on that, though she just says, "...but you didn't like my drawings." I did like your art. I will always like your art, but I already had my mind set on what the characters looked liked andI wasn't about to change them).
I simmered a few years, working randomly on this and that, but I kept working on CatDragon. And during MTAC GO! 2005, the characters took a name change and finally grew into their own persons. During the summer of 2006, I meet Bloody Eric, who introduced me to MegaTokyo and JACK. In August of that same year, I thought to myself, "Hey, I could do a webcomic. But I have really bad art skills. Maybe I can get Eric to draw?"
However, that soon became fruitless, as I have now grown out of touch with him. But still, September came and I decied to have a go at makeing a website and webcomic all by myself.
Now that I'm here, it comes down to more than just a few lines and scribbles. More than plot and real life drama, it's time to say Thank You to those who help make CatDragon what it truley is: a giant interactive project that involves every single person in existance.
THANKS SO MUCH:
Shardai Johnson-san (for helping with character design, personality, and plot)
Bloody Eric-san (for encouraging the making of this webcomic)
Norah Young-san (for help with comic listing)
JReg and Paul Escobar (for all the HTML help)
BittyKitty (for telling me that it's okay to have really sucky art and still take commissions)
